Bappa Doi - with Greek Yoghurt

Ever since the advent of Greek Yoghurt on supermarket shelves in Hyderabad, desserts that normally call for hung curd, have become so much easier! No more the literal hanging of curd in a muslin cloth  while you wait patiently for the smooth, creamy residue to surface!

And hence, the perfect ingredient for Bappa Doi, the traditional Bengali dessert. I baked it, bain marie style, or the water bath way....and in 20 minutes, one gets a lovely, firm and enticingly delicious dessert!

I believe one can improvise on it by adding mango purée, or sprinkling the top with coffee powder or cinnamon( I did the latter). Would love to learn about other ways to turn this classic dessert into one more comtemporary.
